Moving On // Life Changes

Hello,

So recently I was so unmotivated and unhappy where I was in life (I felt like I was at the end of a chapter withing my life). I sat and thought what the pin point of this was and it was where I worked. If your anything like me and worked in the world of recruitment you know its abit like a shark tank. I explored my options on what I wanted to go into which was accounts and found the perfect role near my house and more money to help me financially with saving for a mortgage and learning to drive.

I thought I would create this blog to help anyone going through this as I know its a difficult time to move on and feel stability within changing from Company to Company.

1. Don't always move just for money it has to be for the better. Better role and better people within the business and also a good career progression. Which also comes under if your current Company offer a counter offer always think about the the future if you take the offer will you still be unhappy ?

2. Take some time out to attend interviews and be selective within the process

3. Research the company and find reviews before making the move

4. Make sure your new employer knows about your working notice and before you give this in to your current employer make sure you have confirmation from your new employer to have that stability in moving on

5. You will have people at your current workplace that your close to, go out and take time to let them know your time working with them was great if they worked closely to you. (even keep in-touch afterwards)

So they were my own personal tips on moving job roles i'd love to hear your tips and stories below!

Hope your all well

IBS and Anxiety

Hello,

I have been dealing with IBS and Anxiety for a good couple of years now and I know that alot of social media, Bloggers and Youtubers have come out and made content on the subject. I'm really happy that now more people are coming to terms with mental illness and not brushing the subject off.

I wanted to go through my story in case I can help anyone at all out there that's going through the same thing which is the most important part of this "Your Not Alone"

It started back in around 2012 when on nights out I would start to get a nervous stomach and use to think everyone was staring at me and the room always use to feel as if it was closing in.
I always thought it was just me or the alcohol I was drinking, but over time it seems to be I become nervous when I know I have an event or need to get somewhere new.

Although my IBS goes hand in hand with my Anxiety as I always feel nervous traveling or being in public and feeling like I need to rush to the loo to put it lightly, which then puts me in a anxiety state.

Back in 2014 I was diagnosed with IBS and I have struggled ever since, a girl who loves food being told to only eat certain foods was hard.
They told me to diet or follow a FodMap Diet and I always try my best but everyone has slip ups right ?

Tips for IBS

1. Always drink plenty of water to flush through your digestive system

2. Peppermint Oil tablets work wonders on wind and for any ingestion you can get from having IBS

3. Buscpan is amazing for bloating and cramps

4. Not eating over 8pm has helped me alot for each morning I get up now

Tips for Anxiety

1. Never just think of the negatives in the situation your nervous for (you can always make out it will be 10 times worse and that's not always the case)

2. I listen to calming apps on my i-phone when im traveling to calm me and take my mind off my IBS

3. If things become worse - take yourself away from the situation for 5-10 minutes (for example when I was out in a pub or club I would just sit outside or in the toilets and gather my thoughts before continuing)

4. I have now found out Netflix have a download bit so you can watch on the go so I will download a film and watch it on the way to work and back to take my mind off IBS symptoms

If you are struggling with any mental health or illness please see someone and talk to someone, easier said than done I know but its truly the best way to get it off your chest and get help for easier day to day life.

My Weight Story and Slimming World

So most women have all been there where our “devil” (dark side) always talks us down and makes us want to lose weight. Growing up the media made sure the public knew if you were “small” you would be beautiful. When I was 16 I did a photo shoot with an agency in London and they said “yes you photograph well but your too fat to get into the model industry” which as you can guess destroyed me when I was young.

However…
As I’m growing up I’m starting to learn about my body and a MASSIVE key factor is Slimming World, going back a few years ago I tried a few times but that dark side always talked me down and I gave up on it. Since early this year I re-joined and have stuck to it… Yes it’s hard and Yes I have bad weeks but recently I have really thought what I’m putting into my body and really enjoying sticking to plan.
It’s a huge help that I have an amazing consultant (Kerry) she is understanding and an amazing caring women who brightens your week up when you go. In group it’s always about amazing love and support and no one ever judges you on what you have lost or gained and it’s an amazing journey in my life at the moment.

So I’m hoping as I get older and lose weight the healthiest way possible I will learn to love myself. So I wish I could go back to and tell my 16 year old self to accept her body and other great things will come!

If you have ever thought about joining Slimming World I can 100% say it works if you give it chance and stick to it!

The Great Purge

Hiya,

Have you ever just wondered why you can’t ever pick an outfit you love or thought why don’t I own any clothes but take a look inside your wardrobe and have stacks upon stacks of clothes just sitting there?

I think I speak for “Most Women” out there that have done this and you’re not alone!

I decided a couple of weeks ago to actually have a proper look through my wardrobe to see what I have in there and to also organise it so that it was in categories and colour. Little did I know I would still be doing this into the late hours (It does take a while for those of use that debate if we still need that old t-shirt that you haven’t worn for years). I had items in there that were great to sell which I’m still doing on Ebay UK to get extra cash to build my basic wardrobe up and also had 4…. yes 4 bags of clothing that where full!! Which I gave to charity which is a great way to give back to the community when you know that your trash is someone’s treasure and that dress you don’t wear could be someone else’s best possession.

After this huge purge I was left with a sad looking wardrobe with a little selection of clothes I love and wear all the time. I noticed that there wasn’t a good capsule wardrobe but clothes I randomly buy without thinking of outfits that that piece of clothing goes with. So I wanted to write this blog to start me off but to also help anyone out there in the same position as me and doesn’t know where to being ….

I saw what I had already and looked on the internet at different people’s capsule wardrobes as it might not be the same for all types of people. Here’s a list I have come up with for me personally that I will spend that little extra money on as this should last you a life time to then build on with different items to create the perfect outfit.

My Capsule Wardrobe List:

  • Black leather jacket
  • Round neck t-shirts (good quality) in Black, White, Dark Green, Grey
  • Pull on jumpers in Black and Dark Green
  • Cardigans in Black, Grey and Dark Green
  • Duster coat in Black
  • Black and Brown Boots
  • Leather look Trousers/Jeans
  • Good Quality leggings with different textures (Leather, soft and ribbed)
  • Black leather skirt
  • Good quality jeans – for me stretchy comfy high waist in Blue, Grey and Black
  • White Shirt and Blue Shirt

This might not be to everyone’s taste as some people love colour in their wardrobe but for me I like dark coloured basics to then build on with a coloured handbag or coloured scarf etc...

Let me know if you have ever de-cluttered your wardrobe and if you struggled with your basic capsule wardrobe and what your list is ?

Thinking On Your Own ..... Positive Post

Hello Everyone,
( Sorry if people find this blog post soppy but all below is my opinion)
So I always end up drifting off when ever im sat alone in quiet or commuting to work every day. I know this blog post has maybe been done 100 times and yet I think its important to always inject this subject to social media and I will be happy if this helps at least 1 person that stumbles across my blog.

More than half the population sit there doubting themselves and not happy with some part of their life or the way they look.

I can honestly say I have done this many of times and recently as I get older I start to wonder why we all do it ?

I think its very important to love yourself before committing to anything in life. Weather this be in your self or your self motivation.

If you look at this way your born as you are, you can not change this and no one else is born the same so you should expect this and life your life. Try to become the best version of your self.

I'm working on myself at the moment as I have sat there and got stuck in the dark on how I feel about everything.
First I suffer with IBS (irritable bowl syndrome) and this effects many aspects of my life. I will be doing a full blog post on this soon.
Second I get stuck in a rut with what direction im taking in life career wise as if always been into the social/beauty/fashion/wedding industry and yet I have a 9-5 job.
So im taking steps even if they are baby steps its something right ?

I will be experimenting with different diets to see what suits me and makes me feel amazing.
I have signed up to the body shop at home so I get involved in my own business and the industry I've always wanted to get into.
I  have started blogging again so I can have my own creative corner back.

I just want to say just right down somewhere private the things that have been playing on your mind and see if there's substitutes to focus on and things you can improve to make you feel good.
Theres things in life that we can not control so take each day as it comes (coming from me that has organised every second of her life).

Please take care of yourselves and surround your self with positive people/thoughts.

Have a Great day
Love
Becky
